UAE Minister: We do not wait for protection and we can deter aggression

## UAE's Firm Stance at BRICS Meeting

During the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, the UAE strongly dismissed Iranian claims and justifications for attacks on its territory. Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE Minister of State, emphasized that these actions violate the United Nations Charter and international law.

## Repeated Attacks on UAE

Since February 28, 2026, the UAE has faced nearly 3,000 missile and drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure. These attacks have affected airports, ports, oil facilities, and residential areas, despite widespread international condemnation.

## International Support

The United Nations Security Council and the Human Rights Council have both condemned these attacks, with resolutions backed by over 100 countries. Other international bodies, including the International Maritime Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization, have also criticized Iran's actions.

## UAE's Right to Defense

Al Marar asserted the UAE's right to defend itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. He stressed that the UAE does not rely on external protection and is capable of deterring aggression. The minister called for respect for state sovereignty and adherence to international law as foundations for stability.
