Air India suspends and reduces international flights until August 2026 amid rising jet fuel prices

## Flight Reductions and Suspensions

Air India has announced a temporary reduction and suspension of several international flights until August 2026. This decision is driven by high jet fuel prices and airspace restrictions, aiming to stabilize schedules and minimize passenger inconvenience.

## Impact on North American Routes

Key routes to North America will see significant changes. Flights from Delhi to Chicago are suspended, while Delhi to San Francisco will decrease from 10 to 7 weekly flights. Delhi to Toronto will operate five times weekly until July, then return to daily service in August. Delhi to Vancouver will reduce from seven to five weekly flights. Meanwhile, Mumbai to Newark will increase to daily operations, but Delhi to Newark and Mumbai to New York (JFK) will be suspended.

## European and Other International Adjustments

In Europe, flights to Paris, Copenhagen, Milan, Vienna, Zurich, and Rome will experience reduced frequencies. For instance, Delhi to Paris will drop from 14 to 7 weekly flights. In Australia, Delhi to Melbourne and Sydney will decrease from daily to four weekly services. Across Asia, several routes will see reduced frequencies or suspensions, including Delhi to Shanghai and Chennai to Singapore.

## Passenger Support and Future Plans

Affected passengers will be offered alternative flights, complimentary date changes, or full refunds. Air India is working with regulators and partners to restore full capacity when possible, but further adjustments may occur if challenges persist.
