UAE traffic now: Emirates Road congested, Al Ittihad slow, Al Nahda gridlocked in Dubai and Sharjah

## Dubai Traffic Update

As the second day of Ramadan unfolds, traffic congestion is intensifying in Dubai, particularly on Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. The stretch between Mall of the Emirates and Business Bay is experiencing heavy traffic, with speeds slowing down. Al Khail Road remains a viable alternative, though congestion is expected near Dubai Hills Mall and Business Bay as the evening progresses.

## Dubai-Sharjah Corridor

The Dubai to Sharjah route is facing significant delays, especially on Emirates Road due to a lane closure at Bridge No. 7. This closure, part of ongoing road enhancements, is causing bottlenecks. Heavy vehicles are restricted on this road from 2 pm to 8 pm, which slightly alleviates traffic but does not compensate for the lane reduction. Al Ittihad Road is also heavily congested, with Al Wahda Street backed up from Al Khan to Al Mulla Plaza.

## Within Sharjah

In Sharjah, traffic is slow on Airport Road and around Sahara Centre. Industrial Area 3 is particularly congested as workers head home for Iftar. Al Nahda remains a major chokepoint.

## Abu Dhabi Direction

Traffic heading southbound on E11 towards Abu Dhabi is increasing, particularly around Airport Road and Musaffah. Delays are expected to worsen post-5 pm.

For those commuting, the Dubai Metro offers a faster alternative along the Red and Green lines. Salik tolls remain at peak rates until 5 pm, so plan accordingly.
