Emirates rolls out free Starlink WiFi to more destinations in Europe, Asia, Americas

## Emirates Expands Starlink WiFi Service

Emirates, the world's largest international airline, is broadening its Starlink-powered WiFi service to more international routes. This expansion includes destinations across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. As of mid-May, 33 aircraft are equipped with this satellite-based internet system.

## Fleet Expansion Plans

The airline aims to increase its Starlink-equipped fleet from 33 to 232 aircraft. This initiative follows the launch of the first Airbus A380 with Starlink WiFi, which recently returned to Dubai after installation in the UK. The service is available for free to passengers in all cabin classes on these aircraft.

## Enhanced Connectivity

Passengers can enjoy high-speed internet for activities like live streaming, gaming, browsing, and work tasks. The upgraded system offers significantly improved bandwidth, with the A380 installation providing over 2 gigabits per second across the cabin. In comparison, older systems offered less than 1 Mbps.

## Future Upgrades

Emirates plans to include live TV streaming through Starlink, initially on personal devices and later integrated into seatback screens. So far, over 650,000 passengers have experienced Starlink-equipped flights. This expansion is part of a larger refurbishment program, which includes cabin upgrades and enhanced inflight entertainment systems.
