Air Arabia reports Dh278 million net profit for Q1 2026

## Financial Performance

Air Arabia, the largest budget airline in the Middle East and North Africa, announced a net profit of Dh278 million for the first quarter of 2026. This figure represents a 22% decrease from the Dh355 million profit recorded in the same period last year. The decline was largely due to regional conflicts leading to airspace closures and operational restrictions.

## Revenue and Passenger Statistics

Despite the challenges, the airline's turnover increased slightly to Dh1.8 billion, a 1% rise compared to the first quarter of 2025. Air Arabia transported 4.7 million passengers, a 5% drop from the previous year. However, the average seat load factor improved to 86%, indicating strong demand for the airline's services.

## Operational Resilience

Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani highlighted the airline's resilience and agility in adapting to difficult conditions. The company's multi-hub model and cost management strategies were crucial in maintaining operations and meeting passenger demand.

## Fleet and Recognition

During the first quarter, Air Arabia operated 90 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across its hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan. The airline plans to expand its fleet with additional aircraft deliveries throughout the year. In February, Air Arabia was named among Forbes Middle East's Top 100 Most Valuable Companies for 2026, reflecting its financial and operational strength.
