Egypt recovers decomposed bodies of 12 suspected illegal migrants on Mediterranean coast

## Bodies Found on Mediterranean Coast

Egyptian authorities have discovered the decomposed bodies of 12 individuals, believed to be irregular migrants, on a beach near Sidi Barrani, close to the Egypt-Libya border. The bodies were found washed ashore along with wooden debris, likely from a boat.

## Emergency Response and Investigation

The Matrouh Ambulance Authority responded by sending emergency vehicles to the site, located approximately 140 kilometers west of Marsa Matrouh. The bodies were transported to Matrouh General Hospital for further examination.

## Ongoing Search Efforts

Preliminary medical examinations indicated that the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition, complicating identification efforts. Authorities are continuing search operations along the coast, with concerns that more bodies might be discovered. DNA samples may be collected to assist in identifying the victims if additional remains are found.
