## New Agreement for Engine Maintenance
Emirates has entered into a strategic partnership with GE Aerospace to enhance its engine repair capabilities in Dubai. This collaboration focuses on the maintenance of engines used in the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft.
## Expansion of Maintenance Facilities
The agreement includes technical consultancy and training for the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre, which is undergoing a $300 million expansion. This investment aims to improve infrastructure and in-house capabilities for engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
## Focus on Piece Part Component Repair
GE Aerospace will assist Emirates in establishing a repair line for piece part components, a specialized area of engine maintenance. This development is expected to enhance Emirates' control over engine serviceability and maintenance planning.
## Strategic Importance
Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Deputy President and COO, highlighted the significance of this agreement in advancing the airline's repair capabilities. The partnership is seen as a pivotal step in providing specialized skills for engine maintenance.
## Strengthening the UAE Aviation Ecosystem
Mohamed Ali, President and CEO of Commercial Engines and Services at GE Aerospace, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in supporting Emirates and enhancing the UAE's aviation sector. The agreement reflects GE Aerospace's commitment to supporting its customers throughout the lifecycle of their fleets.
## Emirates Engineering's Role
Emirates Engineering currently supports over 270 aircraft, including Boeing 777, Airbus A380, and Airbus A350 models, from its Dubai facilities. The Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre, established in 2014, plays a crucial role in maintaining the airline's fleet.
