## New Investment Platform Announced
BlackRock's Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), ADNOC, and Temasek have unveiled a new investment platform targeting $30 billion in infrastructure projects across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Central Asia. This initiative aims to enhance energy, transport, logistics, digital infrastructure, water, and waste management sectors.
## Strategic Focus
The partnership will focus on both new and existing infrastructure assets, seeking to generate cash yield and risk-adjusted returns. It reflects a growing interest in the region's infrastructure, driven by factors such as population growth, urban development, and increased energy security investments.
## Key Players and Goals
GIP, now part of BlackRock, manages over $200 billion in assets. The collaboration with L’IMAD, ADNOC, and Temasek aims to leverage global investment expertise and local insights to support the development of resilient infrastructure aligned with regional demand.
## Abu Dhabi's Role
L’IMAD, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign investment platform, is a founding partner, focusing on attracting global capital to support economic diversification and industrial development. ADNOC's involvement highlights its strategy to expand beyond core energy assets, utilizing its expertise in infrastructure management and financing.
## Temasek's Contribution
Singapore's Temasek, with a portfolio valued at $324 billion, adds significant investment weight to the platform. The partners aim to accelerate the development of critical infrastructure assets, enhancing operational excellence and long-term value creation across target markets.
