## Strong Financial Performance
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) reported its highest-ever first-quarter profit and revenue for 2026. The utility's revenue reached Dh6.45 billion, with a net profit of Dh940 million, marking a nearly 90% increase compared to the previous year.
## Increased Energy Production
DEWA generated 11.09 terawatt-hours of electricity in the first quarter, a 5.65% rise from the previous year. Clean energy contributed 18.5% of this total, with 2.06 terawatt-hours produced. The utility's installed generation capacity was 17,979 megawatts, including 3,860 megawatts from clean energy.
## Water Production Milestones
Desalinated water production also reached a new high, with 37.57 billion imperial gallons produced, a 5.51% increase year-on-year. DEWA added 60 million imperial gallons per day of desalination capacity through the Hassyan Sea Water Reverse Osmosis plant, bringing total capacity to 555 million gallons per day.
## Customer and Infrastructure Growth
The utility saw an increase of 19,803 customer accounts in the first quarter, with a total annual growth of 5.08%. DEWA also expanded its infrastructure by commissioning new substations and increasing its EV Green Charger network to 2,223 charging points across Dubai.
## Dividend Distribution
DEWA distributed Dh3.1 billion in dividends in April for the second half of 2025 and plans to distribute another Dh3.1 billion in October for the first half of 2026, following its policy of a minimum annual dividend of Dh6.2 billion over five years.
