Abu Dhabi's Phoenix Group partners with DC Max to unlock $8 billion European AI Data Center opportunity, with Lyon, France as first deployment

## Strategic Partnership for AI Infrastructure

Abu Dhabi's Phoenix Group has teamed up with French data center developer DC Max to establish an 18MW AI-ready facility in Lyon, France. This marks the first deployment of Phoenix's European Data Center Platform, which aims to provide over 1GW of AI and high-performance computing capacity across Europe and the GCC.

## Meeting Growing Demand

The demand for AI computing resources in Europe is rapidly increasing, with many enterprises securing capacity well in advance. Traditional development timelines are often too slow to meet this demand. Lyon, with its strong industrial base and lower land costs compared to Paris, offers an ideal location for this initiative.

## A Scalable Platform

The partnership between Phoenix and DC Max is designed as a repeatable development model, not just a single project. With a pipeline valued at approximately $8 billion, the collaboration aims to deliver AI-ready infrastructure quickly across key European markets. Phoenix contributes capital and operational expertise, while DC Max offers site origination and grid access capabilities.

## Expanding Global Presence

Phoenix Group, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, operates over 550MW of capacity worldwide, including in the UAE, Oman, North America, and Ethiopia. Founded in 2017, the company has expanded from its roots in Bitcoin mining to become a major player in global digital infrastructure. DC Max, with a portfolio of around 2GW, brings extensive experience in developing digital infrastructure for cloud and AI applications.
