Saudi Arabia cuts Hajj payment window to six hours before deadline

## New Payment Phase for Hajj Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a significant change in the payment process for domestic pilgrims. Starting Friday, May 15, the payment window for Hajj reservations will be reduced to just six hours. This change affects Saudi citizens and residents who have already registered and secured their spots through the Nusuk platform.

## Payment Deadlines and Procedures

Initially, pilgrims will have 72 hours to pay their reservation invoices until Thursday, 27 Dhul Qada. However, from Friday, 28 Dhul Qada, the window will be shortened to six hours. This adjustment aims to enhance seat availability and improve allocation efficiency. Payments are to be made via the SADAD system, and any unpaid reservations will be automatically canceled once the deadline passes.

## Infrastructure Upgrades in Mina

In preparation for Hajj 2026, Saudi authorities are implementing major upgrades in Mina. This includes a new identity for pilgrim tents, covering over 24,000 square meters, distributed across two main locations. The upgraded tents feature modern facilities, dining halls, and advanced systems to enhance comfort and efficiency for pilgrims.

## Safety and Comfort Enhancements

The improvements also include enhanced ventilation and shading systems to provide a more comfortable environment. Additionally, a large-scale project to upgrade fire safety and cooling networks in Mina's tent compounds has been completed. This project covered 188 residential zones and involved the installation of extensive networks across four phases, aiming to strengthen infrastructure readiness during peak pilgrimage periods.
