Emirates Nature-WWF launches new 2030 strategy focused on resilience and sustainability

## New Strategy for Environmental Resilience

Emirates Nature-WWF has introduced a comprehensive 2030 strategy aimed at enhancing environmental conservation, food and water security, climate action, and community resilience in the UAE. This initiative was unveiled during the organization's Annual General Assembly, chaired by Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi, marking the 25th anniversary of Emirates Nature-WWF.

## Focus Areas and Goals

The strategy is built on four key pillars: nature and wildlife protection, food and water security, climate action, and resilience and preparedness. It emphasizes community involvement through volunteer programs and partnerships with government and private sectors. A significant focus is placed on restoring local ecosystems and traditional practices, such as heritage mountain farms and falaj irrigation systems.

## Achievements and Future Plans

In 2025, Emirates Nature-WWF achieved notable milestones, including the rediscovery of the Arabian Caracal in Wadi Wurayah National Park and the restoration of traditional mountain farms. The organization also launched the UAE's first Shu’a fragrance line using locally grown Arabian Moringa. Over 270 community events were organized, contributing significant data for scientific research and volunteer hours for conservation efforts.

## Commitment to Sustainability

Laila Mostafa Abdullatif, Director General of Emirates Nature-WWF, emphasized the strategy's commitment to safeguarding the UAE’s future by protecting its natural resources. The organization plans to continue collaborating with partners to bolster the country's environmental resilience for future generations.
