## Major Investment in Duqm

Oman is set to enhance its electric vehicle (EV) supply chain with a significant investment in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. The project, valued at $250 million, will be developed in partnership with Korean company EL B&T.

## Two-Phase Development

The initiative will unfold in two phases, ultimately achieving an annual production capacity of 60,000 vehicles and 1.6 million battery cells. The first phase will cover 467,000 square meters, with an additional 429,000 square meters allocated for the second phase.

## Strategic Goals

This project is part of Oman's broader strategy to boost industrial investment and strengthen its position in advanced manufacturing. It aims to create an integrated industrial ecosystem for the EV sector, enhancing value chains related to batteries and other components.

## Market Expansion

Initially, the project will focus on meeting local demand in Oman, with plans to expand into the GCC, Middle East, and North African markets. This expansion is expected to attract complementary industries to the region.
