## TVK Secures Majority in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu is poised for a significant political change as Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), prepares to be sworn in as Chief Minister. This follows TVK's successful alliance, which secured 121 seats in the 234-member Assembly, surpassing the required majority of 118.
## Alliance Support
The TVK's strength was bolstered by alliances with Congress, CPI, CPI(M), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan and IUML leaders have expressed their support, emphasizing the need for stable governance.
## Historic Political Shift
Vijay's appointment marks the first time since 1967 that a non-Dravidian party leader will assume the Chief Minister's role in Tamil Nadu. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at 10 am at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, with notable attendees expected, including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
