Tamil Nadu CM oath ceremony: TVK gets VCK backing, Governor skips Vijay meet

## TVK Secures Crucial Support

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is on the verge of forming a coalition government in Tamil Nadu after receiving support from Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK). VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan provided a letter of support to TVK's Aadhav Arjuna, boosting TVK's alliance to 119 MLAs in the 234-member Assembly, surpassing the 118 needed for a majority.

## Governor Cancels Meeting

TVK leader Vijay was scheduled to meet Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to present letters of support and stake a claim to form the government. However, the meeting was unexpectedly canceled. Previously, the Governor had not invited Vijay due to insufficient proof of majority support.

## Political Milestone

TVK emerged as the largest party in its first election with 108 seats but needed additional support to form a government. With the backing of Congress, CPI, CPI(M), and VCK, TVK has now crossed the majority threshold. If successful, Vijay would be the first leader outside the DMK-AIADMK dominance to lead Tamil Nadu since 1967.
