## Surge in Ultra-Wealthy Individuals
Despite economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions, the global population of ultra-high-net-worth individuals has been expanding rapidly. According to Knight Frank's Wealth Report 2026, an average of 89 new ultra-rich individuals, defined as those with net assets of at least $30 million, have been added daily over the past five years.
## Significant Growth in Wealth
The report highlights a substantial increase in the ultra-wealthy population, which grew from 551,435 in 2021 to 713,626 in 2026. This growth reflects a broader transformation in global wealth distribution, with the United States leading the charge. The US accounted for 41% of the new ultra-rich, raising its share from 33% to 35% of the global total.
## Emerging Markets on the Rise
While the US remains a dominant force, emerging markets like India, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia are gaining momentum. India saw a 63% rise in its ultra-wealthy population, with further growth expected. Indonesia is projected to experience the fastest growth, with an 82% increase anticipated over the next five years.
## Concentration of Wealth
The report also notes a trend towards wealth concentration in specific cities that offer stability and opportunity. Cities like London, New York, Dubai, and Singapore are becoming key hubs for the ultra-wealthy, who are increasingly mobile and selective about where they invest and reside.
## Future Outlook
Looking ahead, the global landscape of wealth is expected to continue evolving, with private capital showing resilience despite challenges such as inflation and regulatory changes. The report suggests that the ultra-wealthy will keep diversifying their investments across multiple global centers to balance opportunity and security.
