## Key Agreements Signed
Al Khaznah Leathers (AKL), a leading sustainable leather manufacturer in the UAE, has signed two significant memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the Make It in the Emirates 2026 event. These agreements aim to enhance the company's role in industrial localisation and the preservation of Emirati craftsmanship.
## Collaboration with ROX
One of the MoUs involves a partnership with ROX, focusing on developing automotive leather solutions. This includes the production of finished leather, advanced cut parts, and precision-engineered components tailored for future mobility applications.
## Cultural Partnership
In addition, AKL has entered into a cooperation agreement with the UAE Ministry of Culture. This collaboration seeks to support the creation of heritage-inspired leather products and training initiatives, integrating traditional leather arts into modern industrial practices.
## Leadership Vision
Shamsa Muaid Alahbabi, Managing Director and CEO of AKL, emphasized that these agreements reflect the company's dual focus on advancing industrial manufacturing and preserving Emirati leather heritage. The partnership with ROX aims to position the UAE as a credible partner in the automotive leather sector, while the collaboration with the Ministry of Culture underscores a commitment to craftsmanship and national identity.
## Supporting UAE's Industrial Agenda
These strategic partnerships highlight AKL's expanding role in supporting the UAE's industrial goals by bridging heritage, localisation, and advanced manufacturing. Established under the vision of the late President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, AKL remains the only leather facility in the UAE with a fully integrated value chain.
