AE Coin and USDU to develop a regulated AED–USD digital conversion framework for institutional settlement in the UAE

## Strategic Partnership for Digital Conversion

AE Coin, the UAE's first AED-pegged stablecoin, and USD Universal (USDU), a USD-backed stablecoin, have joined forces to create a regulated digital conversion framework for AED and USD. This initiative is supported by Al Maryah Community Bank (Mbank) and aims to facilitate near-instant exchanges between these currencies within the UAE's regulatory environment.

## Enhancing Financial Operations

The framework is designed to streamline virtual asset market settlements, treasury operations, and liquidity management while ensuring compliance with local payment regulations. It represents a significant step towards establishing a dollar-based trade finance stablecoin infrastructure originating from the UAE.

## Future Integration and Use Cases

The collaboration plans to integrate with fintech platforms focused on cross-border trade finance, laying the groundwork for compliant multi-currency digital settlements. Additionally, the framework will allow USDU holders to convert to AE Coin and use the AEC Wallet for regulated domestic transactions.

## Access and Execution

Initial access to the conversion service will be available through Changer.ae, a digital asset custodian, and Aquanow, a licensed Broker-Dealer, ensuring compliant access within the UAE's regulatory framework.

## Vision for Digital Finance

This partnership aligns with the UAE's vision of creating a secure and efficient digital financial environment. By bridging AED and USD payment tokens, the initiative aims to modernize cross-border financial flows and expand real-world financial use cases.
