Pakistan embassy in Muscat restores passport services after global outage

## Passport Services Resume in Muscat

The Pakistan Embassy in Muscat has resumed its passport services following a week-long suspension due to a technical issue at its headquarters in Islamabad. This interruption had affected Pakistani missions globally, including those in the Gulf region.

## Walk-in System Implemented

Pakistani Ambassador to Oman, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, announced that passport services, including renewals and new issuances, are now available without appointments. The embassy is operating a walk-in system, handling over 100 applications daily.

## Impact of the Outage

The system failure, which began on April 29, caused significant inconvenience for overseas Pakistanis, impacting travel, visa, and residency processes. Embassies in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia were also affected.

## Advisory for Applicants

The embassy advises applicants to visit during official working hours as normal operations have resumed, providing much-needed relief to expatriates in Oman.
