## BJP Leads in West Bengal
In the ongoing West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken an early lead, securing 158 seats according to the latest trends from the Election Commission of India. The Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, is currently leading in 123 seats.

Suvendu Adhikari, a prominent BJP candidate, expressed optimism about his party's performance, particularly in the Nandigram and Bhabanipur constituencies. He noted that while the initial rounds in Bhabanipur were closely contested, he expects to gain a lead as counting progresses.
## Voter Turnout and Historical Context
West Bengal has witnessed a record voter turnout, with 91.66% in Phase-II and 93.19% in Phase-I, culminating in a combined turnout of 92.47%. In the previous 2021 elections, the TMC won decisively with 213 seats, while the BJP secured 77 seats, marking a significant increase from its past performance.
