## Intensified Anti-Corruption Efforts
Saudi Arabia's Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, known as Nazaha, has detained 97 government officials as part of a significant crackdown on corruption. This initiative follows extensive investigations and inspections conducted in April 2026.
## Ministries Involved
The detained individuals are linked to various ministries, including Interior, Defence, Health, Municipalities and Housing, Human Resources and Social Development, and Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. These arrests are part of a broader effort to address issues of bribery, embezzlement, and abuse of power within public offices.
## Investigation Details
Nazaha reported that it carried out over 3,000 inspection tours last month, leading to investigations into 259 individuals. While 97 suspects were detained, some have since been released on bail. The authority emphasizes its commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring accountability in public institutions.
