## Devastating Blaze in Vivek Vihar
A tragic fire in a residential building in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area resulted in the deaths of nine family members, including a one-year-old child. The fire broke out early Sunday morning, around 4 am, on the second floor of the four-storey building and rapidly spread to the upper floors.
## Rescue Efforts and Challenges
Firefighters faced significant challenges due to poor access and the early hour, which delayed evacuation efforts. Protective grills on the building's front further hindered rescue operations. Despite these obstacles, 14 fire tenders were deployed, and around 15 residents were rescued.
## Victims and Injuries
The fire claimed the lives of five family members on the second floor, including Arvind Jain, his wife Anita, their son Nishant, his wife Anchal, and their child. On the third floor, Nitin Jain, his wife Shailey, and their son Samyak also perished. Another victim, Sikha Jain, died on the first floor, while her husband Naveen Jain was injured.
## Investigation and Response
Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the fire, though a local resident suggested a possible air-conditioner explosion. Multiple agencies, including the Delhi Fire Service and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, are involved in the investigation. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed condolences and assured support for the affected families.
