Abu Dhabi: Two new toll gates to go live from Monday

## New Toll Gates Locations

Abu Dhabi is set to activate two new toll gates as part of the Darb toll system starting Monday. The gates are strategically placed on Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Road in the Ghantoot area and on Karama Oasis Road at the entrance and exit of Sheikh Zayed Road.

## Toll Fees and Exemptions

Motorists will incur a charge of Dh4 per crossing at these new toll points. However, exemptions remain for one registered vehicle per category, including senior citizens, people of determination, low-income residents, and retired Emiratis.

## Traffic Management Strategy

The Integrated Transport Centre, in collaboration with Q Mobility, aims to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic flow through these additions. The locations were chosen based on comprehensive traffic studies evaluating vehicle density and travel patterns.

## Alternative Routes

Drivers using the Karama Oasis Road gate can opt for Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Road or Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street as alternative routes. Those traveling through Ghantoot have the option of using Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road.

## Monitoring and Future Plans

Authorities will monitor the impact of these toll gates through periodic reviews to ensure they meet transport needs effectively, especially during peak hours. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to accommodate urban growth and increasing traffic volumes in the emirate.
