## Campaign Launch
Abu Dhabi has initiated a worldwide campaign to raise autism awareness, under the patronage of Sheikha Moza bint Suhail. The campaign, "Smile… Your Smile Is Enough to Make Them Happy," was announced at the conclusion of the 4th International Autism Conference 2026.
## Global Expansion
This initiative marks a significant step towards global expansion, with a major launch planned for 2027. It aims to transform awareness into sustainable programs that have a lasting impact both locally and internationally.
## Key Objectives
The campaign seeks to enhance understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and promote inclusion. A central aspect is involving individuals with autism as ambassadors to share their experiences, thereby fostering societal understanding and empowerment.
## Digital and Community Engagement
A digital platform will be introduced to facilitate widespread participation. The campaign includes various activities such as school visits, community events, and the creation of digital content. It also features training programs and support sessions to build a network of supporters.
## Leadership and Support
Abdullah Abdul Aali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Authority for People of Determination, emphasized the importance of turning awareness into impactful daily behaviors. Amina Al Haidan, CEO of the International Autism Conference, highlighted the campaign's role in breaking barriers and fostering communication.
## Broader Impact
Dr. Ousha Al Mehairi from the Moza bint Suhail Centre stressed that autism awareness is a developmental necessity. The campaign aligns with the UAE’s "Year of the Family 2026," underscoring the family's role in supporting individuals with autism. Global statistics show that 1 in 36 children is diagnosed with ASD, highlighting the need for such initiatives.
