## Honoring Cultural Preservation
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, recognized the winners of the Erth Dubai Awards, which celebrate efforts in preserving Dubai's heritage and cultural identity. The ceremony took place at the Museum of the Future, with prominent figures such as Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in attendance.
## Acknowledging Contributions
The awards highlighted the importance of documenting Dubai's cultural and social history. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that maintaining a strong cultural identity is crucial for Dubai's development and global leadership. He praised the community's engagement, noting that over 25,000 submissions were received, reflecting a collective effort to preserve the city's legacy.
## Award Winners
The Grand Prize, valued at Dh1 million, was awarded to Nasser bin Ahmed bin Issa bin Nasser Al Serkal for his exceptional work in documenting Dubai's heritage. Other notable winners included Ghith Mattar Sultan Al Qamzi for Best Family Heritage Documentation and Ahmed Ayoub Mohammed Noor Abdul Karim for Best Oral Heritage Documentation.
## Institutional Recognition
Among institutions, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority was named Best Government Entity, while Uncle’s Shop and New Academy School were recognized as Best Private Sector Entity and Best Educational Institution, respectively.
## Future Plans
The Erth Dubai initiative plans to publish 100 books featuring stories from Dubai's residents, further enriching the city's cultural narrative. The initiative continues to encourage community participation in documenting their experiences to preserve Dubai's heritage for future generations.
