## Honoring Cultural Heritage
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recognized the winners of the Erth Dubai Awards. This event, held at the Museum of the Future, celebrates efforts in preserving Dubai's cultural and social heritage. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, emphasized the importance of maintaining the city's identity and history as part of its development strategy.
## Award Highlights
The awards received over 25,000 submissions from individuals and institutions, showcasing a strong community commitment to documenting Dubai's story. The Grand Prize, valued at Dh1 million, was awarded to Nasser bin Ahmed bin Issa bin Nasser Al Serkal for his significant contributions. Other notable winners included Ghith Mattar Sultan Al Qamzi for Best Family Heritage Documentation and Ahmed Ayoub Mohammed Noor Abdul Karim for Best Oral Heritage Documentation.
## Community Engagement
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the role of community involvement in preserving Dubai's legacy, noting that the awards have fostered a deeper awareness among residents about their role in documenting history. The initiative has seen over 14 million interactions and produced thousands of documentation materials, enriching Dubai's cultural archive.
## Future Plans
The Erth Dubai initiative plans to publish 100 books featuring stories from residents, further contributing to the city's cultural identity. The initiative continues to encourage community participation in documenting their experiences to ensure the preservation of Dubai's heritage for future generations.
