## Increased Flight Options
Air India Express has announced an expansion of its flight services between India and the UAE, effective from April 30. This move comes as the airline resumes several routes and increases flight frequencies to key destinations in the Gulf region.
## Key Destinations
The airline is now operating over 40 daily flights across West Asia, connecting major UAE cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain with Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. This expansion is particularly beneficial for the large Indian expatriate community in the UAE.
## Broader Gulf Connectivity
In addition to the UAE, Air India Express has reinstated services to Qatar and Bahrain, while maintaining operations to Oman and Saudi Arabia. This indicates a broader recovery in air connectivity between India and the Gulf, crucial for business, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives.
## Challenges Ahead
Despite the increased connectivity, Indian airlines are facing financial challenges due to rising aviation fuel costs, which could impact fare prices and flight availability in the future. The Federation of Indian Airlines has urged the government to consider relief measures to alleviate the financial strain on the sector.
