How the UAE is celebrating its workers this International Workers’ Day

## Celebratory Initiatives Across the UAE

The UAE is commemorating International Workers' Day on May 1 with a series of initiatives organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). Under the theme 'One Family, One Nation,' these activities aim to honor workers' contributions to the nation's growth.

## Sports and Community Events

Among the 18 initiatives spread across 40 locations, sports events play a significant role. A cricket tournament in Abu Dhabi, organized with local sports councils, allows workers to compete in a festive setting. In Dubai, a Workers’ Race is being held in the Meydan area. These events also include raffle draws and award ceremonies.

## Gift Distribution and Workplace Visits

MoHRE teams are visiting workers at their workplaces and accommodations in over 10 locations to distribute gifts and engage with them. This gesture is part of a broader effort to express gratitude and ensure workers' wellbeing.

## Airport Welcome and Virtual Workshops

Newly arrived workers at Dubai International Airport are being welcomed with gifts, highlighting the UAE's inclusive approach. Additionally, virtual workshops are being conducted to enhance workers' awareness of their rights and health standards.

## Strong Participation and Engagement

The initiatives have seen strong participation, reflecting workers' trust in the ministry. These events provide opportunities for interaction with officials, promoting values of creativity, equality, and tolerance. Last year, similar celebrations engaged over a million workers, showcasing the UAE's commitment to its workforce.
