## Box Office Success

Akshay Kumar's latest film, 'Bhooth Bangla', directed by Priyadarshan, has achieved significant box office success, crossing the Rs 2 billion mark worldwide. This milestone was reached on the 13th day of its release, showcasing a strong performance in its second week.

## Domestic and International Performance

The horror-comedy, which premiered on April 17, had an impressive opening weekend in India, earning Rs 58 crore net. By the second Saturday, it had reached Rs 100 crore domestically. Although the film experienced a typical slowdown during weekdays, it managed to accumulate Rs 124.50 crore net in India by Wednesday.

Internationally, 'Bhooth Bangla' had a slower start but eventually picked up, earning approximately $5.6 million overseas after 13 days. The film's daily overseas earnings have now dipped below $80,000, but there is potential for it to reach $6 million.

## Competitive Edge

'Bhooth Bangla' has outperformed several other films, including 'Sikandar', 'Bhediya', and 'Munjya'. It has also surpassed the lifetime earnings of 'Stree' and 'Thamma', which earned Rs 180 crore and Rs 171 crore, respectively. However, it still trails behind major hits like 'Stree 2' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' sequels.

This film marks Priyadarshan's return to Hindi cinema after five years and his first collaboration with Akshay Kumar in 14 years.
