## Financial Assistance for OFWs

Filipino workers in the UAE affected by job losses or reduced hours due to regional tensions may qualify for a one-time $200 aid. This initiative by the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) aims to support overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) whose employment has been disrupted.

## Eligibility Criteria

The aid targets land-based OFWs in the UAE with employment visas or Emirates IDs issued in Dubai or the Northern Emirates. Workers in Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain are eligible if their employment has been impacted. Those with visas from other emirates but working in the Northern Emirates may also qualify, provided they can prove their workplace location.

## Application Process

Applications are exclusively online, opening every Tuesday and Friday at 8 am. Each session accepts around 820 applicants and closes at 11:59 pm or when the limit is reached. The MWO Dubai advises against visiting their office, as the process is entirely online. Application links are available on the MWO Dubai website and Facebook page.

## Initial Response and Requirements

The first application round saw 822 submissions, with a majority being skilled workers. Applicants must submit a request form, passport bio page, and proof of employment and income disruption. This includes employer certification, payslips, or termination notices.

## Payment Collection

Approved applicants will receive their aid at Al Ansari remittance centers across the UAE. Passport and Emirates ID copies are necessary for identity verification during collection.
