Dubai doesn't stop moving: Inside the Gold Line, Blue Line and road projects reshaping the emirate's future

## Gold Line: A New Underground Metro

Dubai has launched the Gold Line, a significant addition to its metro system. Announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this Dh34 billion project is set to serve 1.5 million residents. The 42-kilometer line will be the first fully underground metro route in Dubai, connecting 15 key locations, including Al Ghubaiba, Business Bay, and Jumeirah Village Circle. The line may also link with the UAE's national rail project, Etihad Rail.

## Blue Line: Progressing Rapidly

The Blue Line, another metro expansion, is already 10% complete just months after construction began. It will feature 14 stations and two branches. One branch runs 21 kilometers from Al Jaddaf to Dubai Academic City, while the other stretches nine kilometers from Al Rashidiya to International City. This line aims to enhance connectivity across high-density areas and business districts.

## Hessa Street: Road Upgrades

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has completed a major upgrade of Hessa Street, transforming it into a more efficient route. The 4.5-kilometer stretch between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road now accommodates double the traffic, reducing travel time significantly. Phase 2 of the project will extend the road further, incorporating new bridges and tunnels.

## A Vision for the Future

Since its inception in 2009, the Dubai Metro has become integral to the city's infrastructure. These new projects are not just expansions but a testament to Dubai's commitment to growth and resilience. Despite regional uncertainties, Dubai continues to push forward with its ambitious plans, ensuring its future remains bright and dynamic.
