## New Government Initiatives

The UAE has introduced new initiatives aimed at strengthening its industrial sector. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, announced these measures, which are expected to enhance the country's industrial resilience and sustainability.

## Make it in the Emirates 2026

The upcoming "Make it in the Emirates 2026" event will be the largest edition yet, taking place from May 4 to 7 at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. The event will feature over 1,100 exhibitors from 12 industrial sectors and is expected to attract more than 120,000 visitors. Small and medium-sized enterprises will play a significant role, comprising 61% of the exhibitors.

## Dh1 Billion Industrial Resilience Fund

A key component of the new initiatives is a Dh1 billion fund designed to support the localization of vital industries and strengthen supply chains. This fund will also promote the use of artificial intelligence in production and operations, as well as support strategic stockpiles in sectors like food, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

## Expanding National In-Country Value Program

The UAE Cabinet has expanded the National In-Country Value program, making it mandatory for all federal entities and companies with significant federal ownership. This move aims to increase national spending on local industries and improve access to government procurement opportunities.

## Emphasis on Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly integral to the UAE's industrial strategy. The new initiatives link AI adoption to enhancing competitiveness and supply chain resilience, with a focus on integrating AI into production planning.

## National Industrial Data Committee

A National Industrial Data Committee has been established to improve the collection and integration of industrial data. This will help companies and policymakers make informed decisions during supply disruptions or demand fluctuations.
