## New Enforcement Law in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has implemented a new enforcement law that limits travel bans to a maximum of three years. This law, approved by the Council of Ministers, aims to enhance judicial efficiency and ensure the timely execution of court rulings. It replaces the previous enforcement law from 2012 and will be effective 180 days after its publication in the official gazette.
## Increased Penalties
The updated law introduces stricter penalties for evading court orders. Fines have been increased significantly, from SR100,000 to SR1 million, and prison sentences can now reach up to three years for those who delay or avoid court rulings. The law also targets actions such as hiding assets, obstructing enforcement procedures, and providing false information.
## Consequences for Public Officials and Debtors
Public officials who interfere with enforcement processes may face up to five years in prison. Additionally, debtors who are found to have misused large assets could be imprisoned for up to 15 years. The law also addresses the misuse of enforcement requests and the unlawful disclosure of confidential information.
## Objectives of the New Law
Authorities state that the new system is designed to protect rights and ensure that court decisions are enforced promptly. By introducing these measures, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its judicial system and improve the enforcement of legal rulings.
