## Gradual Return to Normalcy

Schools in the UAE are set to resume outdoor activities after a recent update from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). This decision comes as schools had previously shifted to distance learning due to the Iran–Israel–US conflict, which also led to the suspension of outdoor activities.

## Safety Measures in Place

Although schools reopened on April 20, outdoor facilities like playgrounds and sports fields remained closed. The new directive from KHDA allows for a phased return to outdoor activities, with schools taking this time to implement necessary safety measures.

## School Preparations

Dr. Ghadeer Abu-Shamat, Principal of Al Khaleej International School, confirmed receiving the KHDA communication and stated that preparations are underway for students to safely engage in outdoor activities. A representative from GEMS also noted that schedules are being updated in line with the announcement.

## Phased Reopening

While outdoor areas are expected to stay closed for at least another week, the phased reopening is a cautious step towards restoring normal school operations. Administrators are focused on ensuring all safety protocols are in place before fully reopening outdoor spaces.
