## Incident During Match
Lungi Ngidi, a fast bowler for Delhi Capitals, was involved in an on-field accident during an IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings in New Delhi. The incident took place in the third over of Punjab's innings when Ngidi attempted to catch a lofted shot from Priyansh Arya. While moving backwards, he lost his balance and fell, hitting his head on the ground.
## Medical Response
The game was temporarily paused as medical personnel attended to Ngidi, who was then taken to Max Hospital in Karol Bagh. He experienced headache and neck pain but was reported to be in stable condition. The IPL later confirmed that Ngidi was recovering well and had been discharged from the hospital.
## Impact on Team
Following the injury, Delhi Capitals named Vipraj Nigam as a concussion substitute for Ngidi. Ngidi has been a key player for the team this season, securing seven wickets in seven matches with an average of 29.42 and an economy rate of 8.70.
