RTA opens new road cutting travel time by 60%

## New Road Enhances Connectivity

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened Al Rowaiyah Street, a 3.5-kilometer road that connects Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. This new corridor significantly improves access to key areas such as Dubai Silicon Oasis, Nadd Hessa, Dubai International Academic City, and Warsan 4.

## Traffic and Safety Improvements

The project includes converting a roundabout into a signalised intersection to enhance traffic safety. Additionally, 2 kilometers of cycling tracks have been added to promote healthier commuting options.

## Increased Capacity and Reduced Travel Time

The new road increases traffic capacity by 40% and cuts travel time from 10 minutes to just four minutes, benefiting over 80,000 residents by 2030. This development is part of RTA's efforts to support urban growth and manage rising traffic demands.
