## Fleet Expansion
Dubai Taxi Company is set to enhance its services by adding 600 new vehicles to its fleet. This expansion, starting in July 2026, will increase the total number of taxis from 6,217 to 6,817. The move follows a recent license auction by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.
## Meeting Rising Demand
The decision to expand comes in response to growing demand for transportation services in Dubai, fueled by population growth, tourism, and urban development. The company aims to improve taxi availability and reduce wait times for residents and visitors, especially during peak hours.
## Company Growth
Dubai Taxi Company, which went public in 2023, operates in various segments including taxis, limousines, buses, and last-mile delivery. In 2025, its taxis and limousines completed over 53 million trips. The company holds a 47% market share in Dubai's taxi sector.
## Future Plans
In addition to expanding its traditional fleet, Dubai Taxi Company is also venturing into autonomous transportation. It has partnered with Baidu Inc. to launch driverless ride-hailing services through the Apollo Go platform. The initial rollout will feature 50 vehicles, with plans to expand to over 1,000 driverless cars in the future.
