Sharjah to roll out 100 fast EV chargers under new strategic partnership

## Strategic Partnership for Green Mobility

Sharjah's Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has partnered with ION to enhance the emirate's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. This collaboration aims to install over 100 fast EV chargers throughout Sharjah, including its central and eastern regions.

## ION's Role and Responsibilities

ION, a joint venture between Beeah and Crescent Enterprises, will be responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining these charging stations. This initiative marks ION as the first authorized operator of EV charging points in Sharjah, a significant step towards sustainable transportation.

## Supporting Sustainable Goals

Yousif Khamis Al Othmani, SRTA Chairman, emphasized that the project aligns with global sustainability goals and aims to reduce carbon emissions. The initiative will be implemented in coordination with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority to ensure high-quality standards and timely delivery.

## User-Friendly Features

ION will also launch a mobile application to help users locate chargers, monitor charging progress, and make payments easily. Khaled Al Huraimel, Chairman of ION, highlighted that this project supports the UAE's sustainability and net-zero objectives by creating a comprehensive EV charging ecosystem.
