## AI and Foresight Drive Future Readiness
Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has reached a 95.6% future readiness rate by 2025. This achievement is attributed to a strategic focus on artificial intelligence, foresight, and governance. The "Red Carpet" project, originally conceived in 2015, is now a key part of this forward-thinking approach.
## Innovative Systems and Global Partnerships
Central to GDRFA's transformation is the Future Design System, which integrates foresight with strategic planning. This system has enabled the development of actionable policies and projects. Additionally, the Future Studies Quality Assessment Center evaluates foresight studies to ensure they align with strategic goals.
GDRFA's commitment to innovation is further demonstrated through its Innovators Sponsorship Programme, which has produced 29 projects and graduated 158 participants. The Innovation Enablers Maturity Programme has also enhanced organizational performance across multiple units.
## Knowledge and Talent Development
The directorate has strengthened its knowledge ecosystem with the Learning and Knowledge Production Management System, generating over 450 outputs that support policy and performance. Collaborations with the University of Rochester have led to 10 innovative projects aimed at enhancing government services.
The Tomorrow’s Innovators Programme has prepared over 45 participants with leadership and technical skills, while the GDRFA Centennial Initiative aligns with UAE Vision 2071 to ensure long-term institutional readiness.
## Global Engagement and AI Focus
Internationally, GDRFA has bolstered Dubai’s global reputation by sponsoring the Global Innovation Summit and organizing the International Conference on AI Innovations. These events highlighted AI's role in improving operational efficiency and decision-making.
## A Model for Future Governance
GDRFA Dubai's integrated systems and initiatives exemplify a flexible, future-ready government model. This approach aims to enhance quality of life and support sustainable development, reinforcing Dubai’s goal to be the best city for living and working.
