## Shapoor Zadran's Critical Health Battle
Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran is currently in intensive care in India due to a severe health issue. His condition is critical following complications from a previous spinal surgery and a significant drop in his white blood cell count. The Afghanistan Cricket Board is providing financial support for his treatment.
## Cricket Community Shows Solidarity
The cricket world has rallied around Zadran, with many sending messages of support. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi expressed his concern after speaking with Zadran's family, offering prayers for his recovery. Other cricketers, including Rashid Khan and Umar Akmal, have also shown their support.
## Zadran's Legacy in Afghan Cricket
Zadran, 38, retired from international cricket in January 2025 after a distinguished career. As a left-arm fast-medium bowler, he played a key role in Afghanistan's rise in international cricket, debuting in 2009 and participating in 44 ODIs and 36 T20Is. One of his career highlights was hitting the winning runs against Scotland in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, marking Afghanistan's first victory in the tournament.
The cricket community continues to hope for positive news regarding Zadran's health.
