Dubai court orders Dh13,000 payout after holiday package fails

## Court Ruling on Holiday Package

A Dubai civil court has ruled in favor of a client who was misled by a holiday package provider. The court ordered the company to refund Dh8,268.20 and pay an additional Dh5,000 in compensation for failing to deliver promised services.

## Misleading Raffle Offer

The claimant was initially contacted by the company, claiming he had won a raffle prize. He was invited to a promotional event where he purchased a holiday package worth Dh8,550, expecting hotel stays, holidays, and other travel benefits.

## Breach of Contract

Despite assurances of a 0% interest installment plan, the company charged a 0.70% monthly interest, adding Dh718.20 in unexpected costs. The claimant faced delays and unfulfilled service promises, with the company citing pending approvals from the UK.

## Legal Proceedings

After the company ceased operations due to legal issues, the claimant filed a complaint with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. A court-appointed expert confirmed the claimant had fulfilled his obligations, while the company did not.

## Compensation Awarded

The court found the company in breach of contract, leading to the contract's termination and the ordered refund. The claimant was awarded Dh5,000 for financial and emotional distress, with the company responsible for all court fees.
