## Overview of Alserkal Art Month 2026
Alserkal Avenue in Dubai is set to launch its Art Month on April 18, 2026. This year's event extends over five weeks, featuring 18 galleries and various outdoor activities. The opening weekend promises a vibrant mix of exhibitions, performances, and interactive experiences.
## Saturday, April 18: Key Events
The day kicks off with 16 galleries unveiling their main exhibitions from 11 AM to 7 PM. Highlights include Anthony Akinbola's "Get Well Soon" at Carbon 12, showcasing innovative durag compositions. Gallery Isabelle celebrates its 20th anniversary with "Move, Pause, Return," featuring 20 influential artists.
From 2 PM to 8 PM, visitors can engage in live screen printing at The Yard, a collaboration between Shilpa Gupta and The Workshop DXB. At 4 PM, artists Alla Abdunabi and Fatma Al Ali will discuss their projects at the Common Room. The day concludes with a live performance by the Adiga Music Band at 6 PM.
## Sunday, April 19: Educational Focus
Sunday offers a more structured experience. At 3 PM, the Zayed National Museum hosts a family-friendly workshop, "Animal Comic Creations," in Project Space. At 4 PM, a curated tour led by Shannon Ayers Holden provides insights into the season's standout works. Concurrently, a talk titled "From Symbols to Stories" takes place in the Common Room.
At 5 PM, join researcher Faris Shomali for a "Slow Art Walk," focusing on in-depth observation of selected pieces.
## Public Art and Practical Tips
A notable installation, "Still A Sky We Hold" by Shilpa Gupta, is displayed in The Yard, exploring themes of resilience. Entry to all events is free, but parking can be challenging.
