## School Reopening Details
The UAE Ministry of Education has announced that all nurseries, kindergartens, and schools will resume in-person classes on April 20, 2026. This decision applies to both public and private institutions across the country, ending the period of distance learning initiated due to regional security concerns.
## Dubai Nurseries
In Dubai, private early childhood centers will begin a phased return to on-site learning starting April 16, 2026. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has prioritized nurseries in government and commercial buildings for reopening, while others may continue home-based childcare under specific guidelines.
## Higher Education
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has confirmed that all higher education institutions will also resume face-to-face learning from April 20, 2026.
## Exam Changes
Several international examination boards, including CBSE, ISC, and Cambridge International, have canceled their external exams in the UAE for 2026. Schools will communicate directly with students regarding alternative grading methods.
## Hybrid Learning Model
Private schools in the UAE may adopt a hybrid learning model, combining in-person and remote teaching, subject to approval by local education authorities. This model requires careful staff management to maintain education quality.
## Background
The shift to online learning began on March 2, 2026, due to security concerns following regional conflicts. The initial plan was to continue until March 6, but it was extended as authorities monitored the situation to ensure safety.
