## Incident Overview
A tragic school shooting occurred in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, where a 13-year-old student opened fire, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 20 others. The attack took place on a Wednesday, just a day after another shooting incident in a different Turkish school.
## Details of the Attack
The young attacker, an eighth-grade student, reportedly brought five guns and seven magazines to school, believed to be his father's weapons. He entered two classrooms and began shooting indiscriminately. Among the deceased were a teacher and three students. The attacker also died, though it remains unclear if it was a suicide or an accident during the chaos.
## Response and Investigation
Following the incident, the local governor, Mukerrem Unluer, confirmed that four of the injured were in critical condition and undergoing surgery. The Justice Minister, Akin Gurlek, announced that prosecutors have started an investigation into the shooting.
## Context and Reactions
This incident follows another shooting in Sanliurfa province, where a former student wounded 16 people before taking his own life. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has vowed accountability for any negligence related to these events. School shootings are rare in Turkey, which has strict gun control laws requiring thorough background checks and licensing.
