UAE and Bahrain launch ‘single travel point’ to slash airport queues

## Streamlined Travel Between UAE and Bahrain

The UAE and Bahrain have initiated a pilot project aimed at simplifying air travel between the two nations. This "single travel point" system allows citizens to complete travel formalities before departure, significantly reducing wait times and congestion upon arrival.

## Biometric and Digital Integration

The new system employs biometric verification and digital data sharing, enabling passengers to undergo pre-departure registration. This integration promises a quicker and more secure travel experience by allowing authorities to process passenger data in real-time.

## Economic and Security Benefits

The initiative is expected to boost tourism and trade, enhance economic growth, and improve security cooperation. It is being implemented by the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, in collaboration with Bahrain's Ministry of Interior and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

## Future Expansion Plans

Initially launched at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain International Airport, the project could expand to other countries, contributing to a broader vision of smart mobility across the Gulf region. The system aims to position these airports as key regional travel hubs.
