## New Learning Options for Early Childhood
Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has unveiled two innovative home-based learning services for children aged 0-6. These options aim to provide flexible and safe educational alternatives during government-mandated distance learning periods.
## CLHL Hubs and Educators
The initiative includes Centre-Led Home-Based Learning (CLHL) Hubs and personalized tutoring by CLHL Educators. Hubs are small, nursery-style groups conducted in approved homes, accommodating up to eight children from different families. Meanwhile, CLHL Educators offer one-on-one tutoring for a single child or siblings within a family, facilitated by a KHDA-registered teacher.
## Ensuring Quality and Safety
KHDA has established a framework with seven key requirements to ensure the quality and safety of these services. These include licensing, risk assessment, and child protection policies. The framework emphasizes the importance of maintaining educational standards and safeguarding children, even in a home setting.
## Parental Involvement
The guidelines highlight the role of parents as essential partners in their children's education, fostering stronger connections between families and early childhood centers. KHDA assures that all home-based learning will be supervised by licensed centers and qualified educators.
## Commitment to Education Standards
Dr. Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA, stated that the initiative aligns with Dubai's long-term educational strategy. The new services are designed to ensure continuous learning without compromising on quality, offering families more choices and confidence in their children's education.
