Dubai mosques to get EV charging stations in smart infrastructure move

## New Initiative for Sustainable Mobility

Dubai is set to enhance its smart infrastructure by introducing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at mosque parking areas. This initiative is a collaboration between the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV).

## Agreement Details

The partnership involves an eight-year agreement, with a possibility for renewal, allowing UAEV to establish and manage EV charging facilities at selected mosque sites. This project includes the installation of charging stations, ongoing maintenance, and the implementation of smart payment systems.

## Supporting Dubai's Environmental Goals

The initiative aligns with Dubai's broader goals of integrating sustainable and smart services within community facilities. It aims to support the UAE's transition to low-emission transport by expanding access to EV charging in community locations.

## Advanced Technology and Community Impact

The infrastructure will feature advanced charging technology and energy management systems. As EV adoption increases, the capacity of these stations can be scaled up. This move positions mosques as community hubs that contribute to sustainable mobility across the emirate.
