## ICC Addresses Travel Delays
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has refuted claims of favoritism following travel delays for the West Indies and South Africa cricket teams after the T20 World Cup. The delays were attributed to disruptions in flight operations due to tensions in the Middle East.
## ICC's Response
The ICC emphasized that the safety and welfare of the teams are their top priorities. They are working on alternative travel arrangements for the affected players. The South African team is expected to start their journey home soon, with all members leaving within 36 hours. Meanwhile, nine West Indies players have already left India, and the rest are scheduled to depart shortly.
## Criticism and Clarification
Criticism arose from former England captain Michael Vaughan and South African players David Miller and Quin de Kock, who suggested that England received preferential treatment. The ICC clarified that travel arrangements for South Africa and the West Indies were independent of those for England, citing different circumstances and travel conditions.
## Ongoing Efforts
The ICC acknowledged the frustration of players eager to return home and explained that the delays are linked to the ongoing crisis in the Gulf region. They assured that the safety of players and their families remains the primary concern and urged patience as they navigate the complex situation.
