Nine Filipinos from Iran safely return to Philippines

## Safe Return Amid Tensions

Nine Filipino nationals have been successfully repatriated from Iran to the Philippines. This marks the first group of Filipinos evacuated following the joint military operation by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28.

## Coordinated Efforts

The repatriation, which took place between March 10 and 11, was facilitated by the Philippine embassies in Iran and Türkiye. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ensured the group's safe land crossing out of Iran and arranged their flight back home.

## Ongoing Support

The DFA has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting overseas Filipinos, following directives from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure their safe return. As of March 10, the DFA has received 327 repatriation requests from Filipinos in the Middle East.

## Filipino Community in Iran

Approximately 800 Filipinos reside in Iran, many of whom are married to Iranian nationals. The DFA continues to monitor the situation and advises Filipinos in affected areas to stay in contact with the embassy and follow official updates.
