## A Legacy Captured in Photographs
Ramesh Shukla, celebrated as the "royal photographer" of the UAE, has died at the age of 87. Known for his iconic images of the country's founding moments, Shukla's work includes the famous "Spirit of the Union" photograph and the image of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on the Dh50 note.
## Final Days and Family
Shukla passed away on Sunday at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, following a series of heart-related health issues. His son, Neel Shukla, shared that despite his health struggles, his father remained positive and full of life until the end. Ramesh is survived by his wife, Tarun, and son, Neel.

Despite his advancing age and health challenges, Shukla continued to pursue his passion for photography. His son Neel described him as someone who never stopped working, always eager to capture moments with his camera.

Shukla's extensive collection of photographs documenting the UAE's history is displayed in prominent museums like the Zayed National Museum and the Etihad Museum. His work has been instrumental in preserving the visual history of the UAE from the 1960s onwards.

Ramesh Shukla's legacy extends beyond his photographs. He was an inspiration to many in both the UAE and India. His family recently met with UAE leaders to discuss the historical significance of his work, underscoring the lasting impact of his contributions to the nation's cultural heritage.
